About Brook
There was a time in my twenties that I was working for a global non-profit. It was rewarding with purpose, and I loved my team! I didn’t think I was ever going to move back to the States. But there was a trend I was noticing. Not everyone felt the same way and not many were lasting long over there. What stuck out to me the most is that it wasn’t all the stressors of living in another culture (with small children, a taxing job, a foreign language, in a culture you don’t understand…) that was causing the return to the States. It was the stress all of those factors were putting on their marriage, or for the single workers it was making it hard to sustain those vital connections. Often, the bond in their relationship wasn’t strong enough to carry the weight of the other burdens in life, and so the bond would begin to crack and threaten to break. And there are so many reasons for why that is true, but they didn’t have the tools to fix the growing cracks. I hated seeing all of these people I cared about with families that were crumbling, depression taking away from life and leaving the work we were all so passionate about. That’s when I hopped on a plane and came back to the States to be equipped as a marriage therapist. To be honest, I thought I’d get right back on a jet with my license in hand, but what I discovered is “wherever you go, there you are”. Meaning, people back in the States are having the same problems. So I stayed. Now I’m here in Northwest Arkansas and have studied as a master’s level Emotionally Focused therapist from the best trainers on the globe (the most evidence based, gold-standard of couple’s therapy), somatic therapy, neuro-health, affair recovery, family systems, attachment , grief and trauma counseling. For more than a decade, I keep studying and developing in order to bring the very best therapy and holistic care I’m able to provide my clients.
So if you find yourself in my office, no matter why you are there, my promise to you is to listen without judgement, and to be responsible for creating a safe place for you as we work towards your goals and healing. It takes a lot of courage to do this for yourself and your loved ones. It’s a privilege to sit in the chair across from you on this journey.
Do you accept insurance?
The short answer is yes! You will be responsible for your full balance at the time of service. If we are able to bill some hours to your insurance, then great! If you would like to use your insurance, you must call your provider before booking a session and ask them the questions below. This is to make sure you are fully aware of the cost for which you will be responsible.
-How many sessions will my plan cover?
-Will my plan cover more than one hour in a day? Week?
-If I have another therapist I am seeing, will my plan cover care from a second therapist?
-Do I have a co-pay or deductible before coverage will pay for sessions?
